What Not to Wear

What Not To Wear

1) A frown (or your smile upside down).

2) The neighbor kid’s Spiderman costume.

3) Suspenders and gym shorts to zumba class.

4) White after Labor Day (LIE!).

5) Toga, toga, toga!

Or you can pile them all on…

Then, pile all your friends into your car…

AND THEN pile on down to THE WAY this Friday night!

'Cause... WE'RE PILING ON THE FUN

...

AND THE FUNK

...

You know that we have decided to put on our FREE coffeeshop/concert just once a month now. The first Friday of each month is a special concert filled with several entertainers of all styles, and as always: no cover charge.

We have every coffee drink imaginable, italian sodas, and treats, and it's all served up in a beatnik atmosphere.

THIS FRIDAY!

Our trilogy is starting at 7:00pm and ending sometime around 10:00-ish

in the order listed below:

Ron Giesecke.

A local blues guitarist who has performed with the likes of Eric Martin (Mr. Big) and lives next door to Merle Haggard (hey that counts for somethin'!). He's a comedian, magician extrordinaire, blues instructor, and wordsmith! This man has prowess!

Here's a link to a Facebook video of Ron teaching a blues guitar clinic to the kids at juvenile hall. Check out how he gets down! http://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=102030396478767

West Haven

Proud to call this one of our own here from the North State, and even more proud that they're going to grace our stage, check out what Ruban Porras wrote about them on his website: eachdaycounts.com:

“The key here is in the loss that Bobby Oliver seems to live through constantly. Oliver’s raspy voice is often desperate, hollow and sad; and that works. I tend to get lost in strong storytellers and I am lost here. I hear a bit of the depth of Rob Thomas melted together with the force that Dashboard Confessional is able to convey at their best. The magic is in the details when it comes to the skill that it takes to make your voice recognized. Oliver is the magician here. A magician with the rare power to pull tears and passion out of an old guitar. Nice work.”

~ JAMIE CLARK ~

Jamie is driving up from the Bay Area specifically to perform for The Way this Friday night! Jamie is in high demand along our California coast and it is truly an honor that he's taken this time out of his schedule to perform for us. We couldn't do justice describing his craft, so we'll let another website do our talking for us:

(but first, Jamie's youtube video The Waiting: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rijVoJy7FjQ&feature=related)

"JAMIE CLARK - San Francisco Bay Area’s own international recording artist, singer, songwriter and musician Jamie Clark, will be performing at , "The Way" Coffee House, September 3rd. Jamie’s Pop Rock Americana sound has been gracing the stages and recording studios of California, Toronto and Nashville. He is completing his much anticipated new album “THIS WORLD” to be released Spring 2011. Jamie Clark was named “The 1999 Guinness Band of the Year” and has opened for highly acclaimed artists such as, Hugh Masekela, Eddie Money, Martin Sexton, Van Morrison and Elvis Costello, to name a few. According to songwriter, producer and two-time Grammy award nominee John Capek, “If ever there was a star about to be born, now is the time for Jamie Clark - - powerful, universal, passionate and inspiring. A voice that will entrance with personality and looks to match. Don’t miss Jamie Clark”. This is going to be a great show! To learn more about Jamie Clark, please go to http://www.facebook.com/l/3abf5oDsBgrZ-5umRlmo4ezfHsA; http://www.JamieClarkMusic.com/ and Friend him on FaceBook at www.FaceBook.com/JamieClarkMusic"

All the musicians who perform for The Way do so because they love their craft and they love our cause (Jesus!). They play for free and in turn we sell their music. So if you love what you hear, pick up one of their albums while you're here!

~ You can recreate The Way at home since we as cozy as your own living room

(but roomier... and with more sofas... and maybe a couple more candles... well, you get the point!) ~

And just as a reminder:

Our church services are on Saturday evenings at 7:00pm. We are currently in the theme of Roots. We look forward to seeing your beloved faces on our sofas, Friday, Saturday, or both!

See you Friday!!!!
